 Imparting training to employees

During the discussions about customer acquisition or satisfaction, it is often discussed about customer handling, deliverables, gap in supply and support or service, pricing,..........

 At the time of interaction with the customer during sales call, supply, installation, service, product development, handling complaint or any other situation, have we studied whether those representing the business had rightly understood the customer's queries, needs or complaints?

It is increasing becoming rare to find a person in Sales, Product development, production or in service with such a profound knowledge to quickly understand what the customer is talking about. Primarily because, the knowledge on the product and application of the same is not thoroughly imparted to them.

In the hurried business scenerio, very few business houses can afford to train their employees in each department with complete product knowledge, and others desist either due to paucity of time of resources.

If only the persons representing the business house have a thorough product knowledge, they will be able to handle the situations with clarity which will slowly perculate to the customer's end, instilling confidence in the product and the supplier/service provider.

Investing in training of employees at any level will only offer very rich dividends.

Even smaller businesses should provide funds, time and energy into training, which will futuristically improve the quality and capability of those trained, resulting in better customer satisfcxtion, culminating into better revenue.

The sessions need not be very expensive. Can be short, even by resources within - to start with. The same can be scaled up as and when necessary.
