Why don't we change ?

Why don't we Change

Change is inevitable...

We are all aware of and would love to be a part change, but we are not...

That is because there are a few things which stop us from doing so.

The following are the major deterrents to change.

●Commitment to status quo
●Attachment to what's comfortable
●Sticking to what's familiar
●Prejudice
●Ignorance

Commitment to status quo
We so strongly believe what we are doing so far is right. This commitment to continuity in what is being practised so far is one of the greatest deterents to change.

Attachment to what's comfortable
We are not ready to  move away from our comfort zone, primarily because of the feeling of safety...
Moving away from comfort zone is associated with risk and anxiety, since the outcome could be either positive or negative.

Sticking to what's familiar
Familiarity gives us a feeling of comfort, and obviously liked. Venturing into unfamiliar zones calls for learning and may involve risk, and hence is resisted.

Prejudice

Prejudice is a perception and is a  strong belief on the outcome of every action, incident or event.

Can be developed with certain unpleasant experiences or due to  preconceived opinions that are not based on reason or actual experience.

This is a very strong deterrent, and us the biggest show stopper in most people's growth.

It is harder to crack prejudice than an atom
- Albert Einstein

Though it calls for a lot of time effort and practice it ispossible to move away from prejudice.

Ignorance

Many a people are not even aware that change is imminent and inevitable...
knowledge is to ignorance as light to darkness quote
Seeking to know is a very simple practice to handle this.

Conclusion:

Without change, there is no growth.
Its important to be aware and understand the needed change.

More important is to be aware of the factor which stops us from changing, correct it and work on the required change.
